CURRENT ACCOUNT BALANCE DEFICIT INCREASED FROM 14.5 BILLION DOLLARS TO 32.9 BILLION DOLLARS IN THE LAST YEARAccording to the latest data from the central bank( TCMB), the current account balance deficit, which was 14.5 billion dollars in January 2025, increased to 32.9 billion dollars in January 2026. So, what does the current account deficit mean? Current account deficit means that a country spends more than it produces. Therefore, our expenditures more than we produced in the last year increased by 126 percent. Then it is useful to reduce consumption.
